Episode 21: Becky Gligo and the History of Unjust Housing Policy

Becky Gligo, Director of Housing for the City of Tulsa and the interim ED for Housing Solutions, joins Chris and Jesse to discuss the troubled and unjust history of housing policy (Redlining) in the city and the United States. She also describes to upcoming eviction crisis that will strike when the pandemic ends which will be the largest eviction crisis Tulsa has ever seen. Also, the harmful and negative effects that having an eviction on your record can cause. She describes the many partners involved in A Way Home For Tulsa, which is a collective impact of over 30 voting organizations that exists to plan and implement strategies that support a system of outreach, engagement, assessment, prevention and evaluation for those experiencing homelessness, or those persons at risk of homelessness, within Tulsa City/County.
